コンピューターとは

We all khow what computers can do;they can give rapid answers to complicated mathematical problems, calculate probabilities form a mass of statistical date and even play chess. It is easier to think of them as minds rather than machines and call them electronic brains;we can then speak of them as thinking and having a memory, which is helpful in descibing their functions to non-experts. It is misleading,however,because it leads to science fiction fantasies of their getting out of control and plotting against their makers.
